Social Impact Fellowship on Human Rights for Persons Deprived of Liberty
Overview
The Social Impact Fellowship on Human Rights of Persons Deprived of Liberty in Asia is designed for graduate students, academics, practitioners, researchers. It advocates passionately for human rights in carceral settings. Hosted by the Asian Human Rights Observatory with partner organizations, this fellowship provides a unique opportunity to delve into the complexities of human rights issues faced by persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) across Asia, focusing on generating insightful research and fostering collaborative discussions.
Program Structure
Fellows participating in this program will be required to write at least one short paper per semester, preferably in collaboration with another fellow. These papers aim to analyze and compare the human rights situations for PDLs across at least two Asian countries, offering valuable insights into regional trends and challenges.

Research Dissemination
In addition to writing papers, fellows will share their research outputs through 18-minute online video presentations per semester. These presentations aim to disseminate findings to a broader audience and stimulate discussions on pertinent issues. Furthermore, fellows will co-organize at least one online brown bag discussion per semester, providing a platform for interactive exchanges of ideas and experiences.
